Anupam Kher to lead counter-Award Wapsi march to President's House

Actor and BJP sympathiser Anupam Kher will now lead a march to Rashtrapati Bhavan to protest against Award Wapsi, calling the campaign by a section of filmmakers and actors an attempt to tarnish India's image.

"There is no threat to democracy. Vested interests intolerant to the Narendra Modigovernment are behind this campaign," the veteran actor, whose wife and actor Kirron Kher is a BJP parliamentarian from Chandigarh, told India Today on Wednesday.

                     

Kher said he will meet President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday with a contingent of top Bollywood actors and even common men. "It will be a campaign for truth," Kher said.

After a host of filmmakers, including names like Dibakar Banerjee and Anand Patwardhan, returned various government awards and honours they had received to express solidarity with the agitating FTII students, a few members of the Hindi film fraternity termed it as a "publicity gimmick" and an "insult".

Apart from Kher, filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar and Ashoke Pandit are leading the group which called the step by protesting filmmakers "disrespectful" and "politically-motivated". Last week, apart from Banerjee and Patwardhan, Paresh Kamdar, Nishtha Jain, Kirti Nakhwa, Harshavardhan Kulkarni, Hari Nair, Rakesh Sharma, Indraneel Lahiri and Lipika Singh Darai returned their national awards.

"This #AwardWapsiGang has not insulted the government, but the jury, the chairman of the jury and the audience who watched their films," Kher had tweeted in response last week. "Some of these usual suspects of #AwardWapsiGang were instrumental in getting me out of Censor Board the moment Congress came in Power. #Agenda," added the veteran actor.

The churn within the film fraternity also comes in the middle of a raging controversy over the comments made by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who told India Today earlier this week that there is extreme intolerance in India, a remark that has been slammed by the BJP and its affiliates.

Krishna Shroff Breaks The Internet Again By Posting ‘Topless’ Photo

Krishna Shroff, veteran actor Jackie Shroff’s daughter, is already creating waves over internet for some reason or the other. It’s look like Krishna too is following her brother’s footsteps.

She is basking in limelight again as she shared another topless picture on one of social media sites which was meant to garner her share of attention.

Few days back she took social media by storm with her seductive photographs that she posted on her Instagram. Soon after those pictures went viral there were rumors about her Bollywood debut.

It seems like Krishna is slowly paving her to Bollywood.  Also these images are showcasing another fact that she has no qualms in shedding clothes as well. Some Bollywood actresses do hesitate to go for semi nude photo shoots but Krishna went ahead to do such photo shoot way before her Bollywood debut. But Krishna was quoted saying some other reason. “My friend is a photographer, who is building her portfolio to further her career. Jackie Shroff, Krishna’s father, was quoted saying in one of the dailies recently the following statement. “I don’t like interfering in my kids’ lives. Both Tiger and Krishna are well brought up kids and they understand what to do and how to do. They will be the best to answer about themselves. I don’t like talking about them because I am comfortable with whatever they do.”

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau Burns the Dance Floor... Bhangra Beat Se

Justin Trudeau, the newly elected Prime Minister of Canada, is known to be a people's person. While we are aware of his good looks and social skills, his skills on the dance floor came as a surprise. And the bigger surprise? He was dancing to bhangra beats, dressed in shudh desi kurta-pyjama and a stole. 

A YouTube video, released on October 20, shows the 43-year-old grooving to the Punjabi song at an India Canada Association of Montreal event. 

Dragged onto the floor by one of the participating women, Mr Trudeau proved himself an ace dancer, adapting to the steps quickly and then dancing away with abandon.

Seeing his enthusiasm, more people joined in.

The footage, however, seems a tad old. Not only does the PM look much younger, he also sports longer hair.

The second-youngest PM personally thanked supporters after his victory on October 19. Mr Trudeau paid a visit to Jarry subway station in Montreal on October 20 morning. He was seen shaking hands with the commuters and taking selfies with them, reports thestar.com.

Telugu Superstar Ravi Teja declines film opposite Amitabh Bachchan for his passion in Tollywood

When there is an unprecedented craze among regional cinema actors to make a mark in Bollywood, Telugu Superstar Ravi Teja, has declined a film opposite Star of Millennium Amitabh Bachchan! 

It may come as a stunner because working opposite Amitabh Bachchan is every actor’s dream. Hence Ravi Teja’s decision to turn down film offer opposite Amitabh Bachchan may be termed by many as simply ‘ridiculous’. Some may even term it as Ravi Teja’s arrogance but Ravi Tejaexplains the real reason. 

He says, “Yes, it’s true I have been offered a film opposite Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) but I declined the offer because frankly speaking till date not a single South Indian star has been able to make his presence felt in Bollywood. So why should I make a fun of myself when I'm doing so well for myself in Andhra?"

He informs, “It’s just not a film opposite Amitji that I have declined, I get several offers fromBollywood filmmaker but I purposely decline them as I am contented working in Telugu filmdom so much so that Bollywood never really fascinates me.” 

“Further I have observed that unlike Telugu films that are completed quickly, Bollywood films, take lot of time to wrap up. Hence for a busy actor like me hanging up in a Bollywood project will be troublesome for me,” he argues.

“However I'm open to doing multi-starrers in Hindi. I don't mind sharing screen space with some top star in Bollywood,” he quips. 

It may be noted that Ravi Teja, who is on cloud nine thanks to the stupendous success of his latest film KICK 2 recently rubbed shoulders with Bollywood mega star Salman Khan, who played the lead in the Hindi remake of Ravi Teja’s KICK.

Confirmed: Rani Mukerji Is Pregnant; Due In January

Some time ago, we told you buzz was doing the rounds that Rani Mukerji is pregnant, as she was spotted in London getting a prenatal massage done at the hotel she was staying in. There have been rumours on and off about her pregnancy, though, which is why we were hesitant on believing anything until the actress or her team came out themselves and made the announcement. However, while that has still not happened, Rani’s sister-in-law – TV actress Jyoti Mukerji – has apparently told a leading daily that she is, indeed, pregnant.

Apparently, Jyoti has told Mirror that “Yes, Rani is pregnant.” The paper also claims that a source close to the actress has said that Rani and Aditya are out of the country once again – they were travelling in the UK for a month, and although they returned to Mumbai for around a week, they’ve headed out again.

According to the report, she is her second trimester and is due in January.

However, neither Rani nor her team has come out with an official statement, so we’re going to have to wait to see if they do. In any case, it seems like the news is true, so here’s congratulating Rani and Aditya Chopra! :)

Kangana Ranaut VS Katrina Kaif – Who Did Airport Dressing Better?

Another day, another airport spotting. This time, Katrina Kaif and Kangana Ranaut were both spotted at the Mumbai airport dressed in completely opposite styles. Since we can’t decide who we like better, we’d like to know what you think.

Katrina Kaif kept it normcore in a tie-dye top, joggers and her classic kicks. With her leather jacket slung over one arm and her sunnies shielding her eyes, her outfit was something any of us would wear to the airport.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut looked like she was on a different trip all together. In a lemon colored Prada dress with a matching Burberry jacket over her shoulders, Kangana offset the colours with a pastel pink handbag (also Burberry) and tan, ankle strap pumps from Prada. Clearly, she means business and nope, this isn’t something you’d spot us wearing at the airport.
