Samsung’s TabPro S is a 6.3mm Windows 10 Convertible That Aims to Rival iPad Pro and Surface Pro 4

Another day and another Pro, it is Samsung that has jumped into the portable computing scene with the Galaxy TabPro S which is a slim 2-in-1 hybrid that runs on Windows 10. A quick glance at the TabPro S tells us that Samsung has indeed gone the extra mile to churn out a slim Tablet and the accessories it is accompanied with. The metal chassis is reminiscent of the Galaxy S6 series and so are the neatly drilled speaker grills.
Samsung_TabPro_S

The TabPro S will be powered by the Intel’s 6th Gen Skylake dual-core Core M chips which will be clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with a 4GB of RAM. The storage department is graced by a 128GB or 256GB of onboard SSD storage options. The 12-inch Super AMOLED display is set to run at an resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and just like any other Samsung displays this one too seems to excel when it comes to displaying all the blacks and the colors.
We have been referring the TabPro S as a thin machine from the beginning at the reason for that is the 6.3mm of thinness which makes it thinner than the Surface Pro 4 and also the Apple iPad Pro. The device is backed up by a 5,200mAh battery which can be fast charged with the USB Type-C port. The very fact that the TabPro S weighs just 1.53 pounds puts another feather in its cap. The Tab has got a combo of 5-Megapixel camera sensor on either sides and Samsung is said to be working on a LTE version to help people stay connected on the go.
Well the first thing that comes to anyones mind while speaking about the 2-in-1s is the productivity, will the machine be able to bear the brunt of the day to day computing requirements. It was in fact this question that prompted us to do ditch the laptop andsurvive only on the iPad Pro for complete 5-days. The TabPro can be magnetically docked into the case and the angle of the screen can be adjusted. The Keyboard comes with NFC tag and this seems to have prompted Samsung to include one of its gimmicky trick, tap your compatible Samsung phone to a left spot on the trackpad and then you will be able to use the phones fingerprint scanner to unlock the Tab, Fancy for sure!
The Samsung TabPro S seems to be well equipped to make a place for itself in the overcrowded Windows convertible market. Power users will point out to the choice of processor being used – Core M instead of the core i5 or i7. Although it doesn’t boast of raw power it does make up to it with its elegant styling and the features on the offer. The TabPro S is expected to be released in February and the pricing details are yet to be revealed.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 is an affordable Android 5.0-based tablet with Dual-SIM 3G connectivity priced at Rs 7,999

ASUS has launched a lot of entry-level Android-based tablets in India in the past couple of years, including the ZenPad 7.0 and the ZenPad 8.0 during the ZenFestival event. Now, the Taiwanese computer peripheral and smartphone brand has launched an affordable dual-SIM Android-based tablet in India. The ASUS ZenPad C 7.0, which has a price tag of Rs 7,999 and Rs 8,999 (depending on the variant), runs Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, and comes with dual-SIM 3G connectivity.

Going by the specifications, the variant of the ZenPad C 7.0, which comes with an Intel SoC, has a beefier ARM Mali-450MP4 GPU. Even though it is priced Rs 1,000 higher, I would advise people interested in this product to buy the variant that’s available through Flipkart as it will provide a better gaming experience due to its GPU. Since Xiaomi’s Mi Pad lacks any kind of cellular connectivity, consumers would be interested in this tablet’s dual-SIM connectivity. What do you think about this tablet?

Samsung Galaxy S7 leaked case renders reveal a larger display for the upcoming flagship

Last week, a couple of reports hinted that the Samsung’s forthcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7 may not bring major changes in terms of design. Interestingly, in the latest development, a case maker known as ITSkins, has revealed the case images of the upcoming flagship.
Galaxy S7 design render

If these renders are to be believed, the Galaxy S7 looks a lot more like its predecessor, the Galaxy S6. It measures 143.37 x 70.8 x 6.94 mm, which is almost the same size as the Galaxy S6 that measures 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm. Also, the rear camera bump that we have seen on the Galaxy S6 is also present on the Galaxy S7. Assuming that these renders are a real deal, then the Galaxy S7 might sport a 5.1-inch display.
Moreover, the latest rumors also suggest that Samsung is working on a bigger display variant of the Galaxy S7, dubbed as Galaxy S7 Plus. It will be more like the Galaxy S6 Edge+, except that it will be larger than it. The expected measurement for the Galaxy S7 Plus is 163.32 x 82.01 x 7.82 mm, which also means that it might sport a 6-inch display. That reminds us of Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, which was a tough to handle device due to its large display.
Having said that, we need to take these leaks with a pinch of salt. There is no valid proof that these leaks actually hold a solid base. Samsung is most likely to unleash the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus in February, at the MWC 2016.

Samsung agrees to pay $548 million to Apple for patent infringement

It all began back in 2011. Apple sued Samsung for infringing the company’s patents for things like “multi-touch gestures” and “tap to zoom” capabilities. The next year, a court ruled in Apple’s favor. Apple requested $2.5 billion in damages, but the judge decided that Samsung should pay $1,049,343,540. After an arduous legal battle that has seen many chapters, Samsung has finally agreed to pay a little over half that.

apple-vs-samsung-court-011

The final figure of $548 million was reached back in May after some protracted courtroom haggling between Samsung and Apple. Now the two companies have released a joint court statement in which Samsung has agreed to pay this amount so long as Apple can provide them with an invoice by the end of the day.
However, the term “final figure” might be a little misleading. Samsung has made it clear that they are reserving the right to reclaim the payment by reimbursement in part or in full depending on the results of any future court rulings. Apple has responded to these claims by asserting that Samsung has no such right in a legal rendition of “no takesies-backsies.”

So it looks like this is something of a false-close on this case. Sure, Samsung is agreeing to pay, but they’re everything but giving up on this. The company is expected to pursue a US Supreme Court review of the patent infringement case, and many are contesting whether or not the patents sought by Apple should have ever been awarded in the first place. If the US Supreme Court agrees to hear the case, we might be looking at a retrial.

A PHONE WHICH YOU CAN WASH WITH SOAP AND WATER!

Good phones are getting cheap and cheap phones are getting good"

This is probably one slogan in the smartphone industry you have heard of. Sony released waterproof phones, followed by others doing the same. Phone case manufacturers launched cases which can beat the heat and survive in water too.

But, above all, the phone we will talk about today, we will talk about a phone which you can actually give a nice scrub with soap and water.

Kyocera, which has done a line in toughphones for several years has now launched this soap-proof phone. Launching is slightly soap theme, the phone will be available in pink, white and blue options in Japan, don't let the kawaii design fool you -- the phone is pretty designed to take some damage. And ofcourse, a shower.

According to Kyocera, the smartphone use is now so frequent that many users are looking for a phone that they can use, and like almost anything else, clean it later on. To that end, the DIGNO rafre has a longlife, extra-hardy waterproof coating. This handsoap-washable water resistance also includes protection from warm water, which you'd probably be using alongside the soap.
If this much information about its soap and water capabilities is not enough for you, it is also rated for hot water resistance at 43-degrees Celsius, which is not included in the usual smartphone IP certification ratings. The smartphone is IP58-rated and features a self-healing rear panel, which we have already seen in LG G Flex smartphones.
Oh, forgot about this, the device is also shockproof (MIL-STD-810G). The display can be operated even with wet hands and is protected by Dragontrail X glass coating.

Talking about the specifications, which seem to be pretty impressive the Rafre runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and features a 5-inch LCD display with HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution. Under-the-hood it packs 2GB RAM as well. The processor details have not been mentioned yet. The smartphone includes a microSD card slot upto 128GB for expanding the 16GB inbuilt storage.

The DIGNO Rafre has a 13 megapixel rear facing camera along with a 3000mAh battery which is supposed to deliver 20 hours of voLTE talktime.
The handset measures 71x141x10.1mm and weighs 155 grams. Full specification list should be out when the mobile is up for sale in the market.

Lastly, after all the specs and features we would obviously want to know about its pricing. The Kyocera Digno Rafre will launch on 11th of December and costs about JPY 57,420 in Japan ( Roughly Rs 32,300 or USD 485 )

Would you want to buy this shockproof, soap and water proof phone? Do tell us about in the comments!

Samsung’s New Patent Shows Off a Foldable Tablet that will Turn into a Smartphone

Samsung has filed a new patent with the UPSTO which shows off a tablet that can be folded and used as a smartphone. The patent drawings are clear on the intentions of the design, Samsung wants to offer a smartphone and a tablet in a single clever packaging. The patent attributes the design to the Korean IP authorities, since Samsung is a Korean based company plus also depicts the various forms this design innovation can be implemented in.

Samsung_Foldable_1
The project has been dubbed the Project V and it comes with the model number SM-G929 which is a slight increment over the SM-G928 a.k.a Galaxy S6 Edge+. As we said earlier, a slew of configurations have been depicted in the drawings and the horizontal clamshell which opens up like a book seems to take the precedence.
The patent has however just outlined the design and not the specifications of the screen. If the two display are hinged, then the chances are that even when unfolded, it won’t be that easy to use. We feel that Samsung might use a flex like screen which is completely foldable. It makes much sense since the patent also contains drawings of rollable screens.
Samsung_Foldable_2
Another possibility is that the display will be running across the entire breadth and will be glued to the device. This is something that Samsung had already showcased as a concept in a 2014 video. The plot twist comes in the form of an iPod icon, we are well aware of the strained relations Apple and Samsung share when it comes to patents but still the iPod logo doesn’t make much sense.

The Valley is expected to be sold across the European market inclusive of UK, Germany, Italy, France and Poland. It goes without saying that Samsung will also be releasing the device in South Korea. The foldable phone is still in concept state and it will take ample time to see the light of the day, the concept might also die out prematurely owing to the bottlenecks Samsung might face in the project. That being said such innovative designs are a welcome change to the rather drab looking smartphones being sold currently.
