Harley Davidson withdraws SuperLow and FatBoy Special from the Indian market

Harley Davidson India recently unveiled the 2016 line-up of motorcycles with upgrades for most of the products on sale under a new theme known as Dark Custom. However, what one didn’t notice that Harley Davidson also withdrew two of its models from the Indian market namely the SuperLow and the FatBoy Special.
Priced around Rs.6 lakh and Rs.15.5 lakh (Ex-Showroom) respectively, the SuperLow and FatBoy Special were withdrawn from the Indian market reportedly due to the low sales cost. Even though both the models were available in India for an estimated 3 years, they still didn’t manage to gain popularity. They were brought to the Indian shores through the CKD route.

rp_superlow.jpg
The SuperLow is powered by an 883 cc V twin air cooled engine that produces 70 Nm of peak torque at 3,750 rpm. The V twin engine is paired to a 5 speed transmission. The SuperLow gets a decent share of chrome bits that makes its appearance as good as the bigger Harleys in the segment.
The FatBoy Special, on the other hand is powered by a 1690cc air cooled engine that produces 132 Nm of peak torque at 3,250 rpm. This engine was mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The sales of the FatBoy Special were so low that Harley couldn’t manage to sell even a single unit of the motorcycle in the last few months. Another possible reason for the low sales of these bikes could be the introduction of the Street 750 which is a comparatively affordable model and took the place of being the most reasonably priced motorcycle from the U.S. based manufacturer.
What in your opinion would be the ideal choice for a bike with the SuperLow and FatBoy Special being discontinued in India by Harley Davidson? Will Harley replace these models with something new?

Kim Kardashian’s Buttmoji Owns The App Store

It seems like 2015 was the year of the “emoji.” I mean, a damn emoji was the “word of the year.” This year is ending with a massive bang on the App Store thanks to Kim Kardashian and her…assets.
Fire up the App Store on your devices and here’s what you’ll see for the top paid app:

Screen Shot 2015-12-22 at 11.03.46 AM
The app, KIMOJI, costs $1.99. What do you get? Well, emojis having to do with Kim Kardashian, of course. Not bad for a keyboard app, eh?
screen322x572
It currently has 2 stars, so maybe people aren’t getting as much out of it as they thought. The initial popularity certainly spun up tons of interest though, as the App Store magically went down during the flurry of asscitement:

No, but it’s still a fun story.

Hyatt Is Latest Hotel Brand Hacked After Finding Malware On Its Payment System

Hyatt, the global hotel chain with 627 properties across more than 50 countries, is the latest in its industry to suffer a cyber security attack.

In an announcement devoid of specific information or details, the company revealed that it “recently identified malware on computers that operate the payment processing systems for Hyatt-managed locations.” Upon that discovery, it said, it began an investigation with third-party security experts that remains ongoing.
Hyatt didn’t say how many of its locations were affected, how exactly customer data might be compromised, nor how many customers may be impacted. It did say, though, that it has created a dedicated webpage where it will post updates from the investigation — that’s hyatt.com/protectingourcustomers.
Hyatt is just the latest hotelier to get hit by such an attack. Hilton, Starwood andMandarin Oriental are among the others to have been hacked this year alone.

Shag Away These 7 Masturbation Myths… For Good

Just like sex, masturbation is a taboo and a major topic of discussion. Where men usually bring up the topic jokingly, women prefer whispering about the same.
You rarely hear a serious conversation about masturbation.
In order to propel discussion on the related subject, it is firstly important to accept masturbation as a natural act and not see it as something shameful.
There are many benefits of masturbating and side-effects, if done excessively. You may also come across certain myths about the same that you need to do away with immediately –
Masturbation Myths
Myth 1 – Masturbation is for a Certain Age Group Only
masturbation for everyone
People of all ages masturbate
There is no age bar when it comes to masturbation. It is an act in which you can engage at any point of time in life. Usually, puberty hits boys around the age of 13 years and lasts throughout their lives. As per surveys conducted, 70-95% of males and females masturbate to cater to their sexual needs.
Myth 2 – Masturbation is Fake Sex
fake-sex
Masturbation is not fake sex
Masturbation arouses people, just like sex does. Erection, natural lubrication and ejaculation are all part of it. Besides, while ejaculation, people experience real orgasm, which is healthy. Health experts claim that masturbation is as real as kissing, having intercourse and reaching orgasm while at it.
Myth 3 – Women Don’t Masturbate
women masturbate
Women do masturbate

Women DO masturbate. They have needs, just like men. Obviously, the way they masturbate is different as compared to men; their methods vary, too. Where some women prefer watching porn during the act, others fantasise their wishes while going on with the business. But yes, saying that women do not masturbate is totally false.
Myth 4 – Masturbation Causes Blindness
masturbation blindness
Masturbation does not cause blindness
This is one of the most ridiculous fables related to masturbation. When doctors claim the act as having medical benefits, why do people contradict it with nonsensical claims? Instead, it facilitates in stress relief, keeping menstrual cramps at bay and PMS.
Myth 5 – Couples Do Not Masturbate
couple masturbation
Couples masturbate, too
Wrong. Regardless of whether people are single or in a relationship, the urge to masturbate comes naturally. In fact, people in relationships at times masturbate together. It is also a common for people in relationship to feel jealous of one another when they masturbate and link it to cheating. Such couples need to realise that people have different levels of sexual desire and there is nothing wrong with it.

Myth 6 – Only Adults Masturbate
children masturbate
Though not like adults, children masturbate, too
It is also a common notion among adults that only they masturbate because they “know” sex. Children also engage in masturbation, but not how adults know them. Even the younger ones touch themselves, but not like the adults do. They are just curious and it feels good when they touch their genitals. Ultrasounds have been found showing foetuses touching their sex organs while in the utero.
Myth 7 – Masturbation Causes STDs

masturbation std
Masturbation does not cause STDs
Sexually transmitted disease is caused only through skin-to-skin contact. Other than that, transmission of bodily fluids is another reason for contracting STDs. Since both of these do not occur during masturbation, contracting STDs is impossible.

Lightsaber Yourself With Facebook’s Star Wars Profile Pics

Show you’re down with The Force this week then hide your Jedi ways with Facebook’s new Star Wars temporary profile pictures.
Just in time for the release of The Force Awakens, click here then hit the Try It button and Facebook will let you add a scary red Dark Side cross-guard lightsaber or a benevolent blue over one of your photos. Then you can make it your profile pic and set an expiration date for when you want to go back to your normal profile from this galaxy.

You can also find the option in the Star Wars Facebook Page’s timeline.
Facebook Star Wars Profile Picture
The temporary profile pic feature is the same one Facebook used to let people celebrate Pride, rep their college football squad, and root for other sports teams. Facebook seems to like the idea of Snapchat’s branded selfie lenses.
Is this shameless way for Facebook to cash in on all the Star Wars buzz? Absolutely. But it’s still fun. And at least since they’re temporary, you won’t have friends stuck as Sith Lords.

Darth Vader’s Swim with Turtles

In these times of Star Wars frenzy, I have to make a revelation: no, I am not your father – you’re thankfully quite a number to read this so I’d have a tad too many children, although I’m a guy so technically I do have millions of little Sebastians available… but I digress as I barely started my post and the thought is slightly creepy too. So: I may not be your father, but I am… Darth Vader. Yep, that’s right, Darth Vader himself. Well if not himself, at least my heavy, slow breathing in a snorkelling tuba would clearly give me away or indicate some family connection, you have to give me that.

I felt at peace though, swimming in the straits between Gili Air and Lombok island in Indonesia – but my breathing initially clearly wasn’t. I was still breathing more rapidly than necessary. I knew I could finally relax but I had to consciously focus on slowing my breathing down.

Slowly inhaling air through my mouth – my nose was stuck in the snorkelling mask I was wearing – I started mentally counting up to the number six. I then held my breath for two seconds, before slowly expiring for another eight long seconds. The deep sound of air flowing through the tuba resonated in my ears, I sounded more and more like Darth Vader (or maybe like a whale, that would probably be a more accurate comparison), but thankfully my panting didn't disturb anyone nor the creature right below me.

I had suddenly remembered this breathing technique from a cute little squarish book full of simple quotes and relaxation methods. Too much of a rational mind, I had never been very keen about the topic of meditation, mindful introspection and other semi-Eastern voodoo-style stuff; Sam Harris'sWaking Up, a Guide to Spirituality Without Religion had however started to open up my mind a little, before I got my hands on that anthology of quotes and other simple, occasionally simplistic (but does it really matter if they work?), suggestions.

The beloved sea creature was calmly feeding itself, grazing algae and sea grass. I had been looking for turtles for a few days now. It's only when I finally saw one from close up that I realised how their shell camouflaged itself so easily with the brown-yellowish colour of the almost completely dead coral and of the sea grass it was feeding itself from.

Okay, let me admit how lame I was in detecting those turtles: they were more than one metre (three feet) in diameter... so yes, I really wasn't very good at detecting their subtle, if lethargic, movements. Most times they were submerged a mere metre below the surface, their rugged-edge carapace dangling and hitting rocks as the sea was ebbing and flowing. I couldn’t really mock them for being entirely focused on eating, not worrying about waves carrying them away: I was myself so intent on going into the sea that I blindly walked on the dead coral, fins on my feet, falling down like a clumsy clown and hurting myself against the sharp rocks every time a slightly bigger-than-expected wave would come crashing in.

I did eventually figure out a technique: walking backwards into the sea (no, it wasn’t quite moonwalking à la Michael Jackson but “almost”) and, just as importantly, taking the time to identify the areas where the coral had been blown up to let boats come alongside the shore. So if you ever travel to the eastern side of Gili Air, get in about a hundred metres north of Satu Tiga cottages where a few boats are anchored, let yourself drift with the currents, and get out at the little white flag that signals the blown-up channel right before the beach walls. Swim right at the frontier between the coral and the deeper sea where all the tropical fish of all colours and sizes – yes, including things that look like mini-sharks, yikes – love to swim around.

Temptation to swim with the turtle holding onto its hard carapace was high – I never watched The Little Mermaid (“it’s for girls”) so the closest analogy would be Aladdin and his flying carpet (no, I didn’t say the turtle was a carpet, argh!). So did I do it? I’m not sure I want to make you more jealous – or risk being demonised because turtles should be left undisturbed. Let’s just say I “accidentally” brushed against its large, paddle-like flippers. I followed the turtle as it swam away: it was quite a feeling to be able to swim at the same pace as the sea mammal, with no one and nothing else around except that beautiful uniform blue colour of the deep sea in the background. My heart leapt in small bursts of joy as one turtle led me to another, and yet another, and when their large beady eyes seemed to stare at me for a few seconds. Those days were good days for Sebastian.

At the surface of the sea, boats were whizzing around. Children were playing football on the beach – I would dismally lose later on but, to be fair and because I have to find a scapegoat, a player on my team attempted useless headers, literally planting his head into the sand without even touching the ball, what the heck – well, it’s not tomorrow that Indonesia will be on the world map of football (sorry). Tourists were tanning under the sun, sipping some watermelon or pineapple juice. The turtle couldn’t care less about all those mundane activities. It couldn’t be bothered by my presence either.

Once replete with its meal of dirt-coloured sea grass, the turtle broke the surface one last time to breathe one big gulp of air – and immediately dove vertically straight towards the floor of the deep blue sea. Sometimes I wish I could also disappear in some other-worldly pleasant-blue reality, away from feelings of responsibility, away from silly issues. Perhaps I should instead remind myself of that Buddhist analogy as regards to inner tranquillity: down there, far below the waves and the twirl of everyday life, it is always peaceful and quiet...

Samsung Galaxy S7 leaked case renders reveal a larger display for the upcoming flagship

Last week, a couple of reports hinted that the Samsung’s forthcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7 may not bring major changes in terms of design. Interestingly, in the latest development, a case maker known as ITSkins, has revealed the case images of the upcoming flagship.
Galaxy S7 design render

If these renders are to be believed, the Galaxy S7 looks a lot more like its predecessor, the Galaxy S6. It measures 143.37 x 70.8 x 6.94 mm, which is almost the same size as the Galaxy S6 that measures 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm. Also, the rear camera bump that we have seen on the Galaxy S6 is also present on the Galaxy S7. Assuming that these renders are a real deal, then the Galaxy S7 might sport a 5.1-inch display.
Moreover, the latest rumors also suggest that Samsung is working on a bigger display variant of the Galaxy S7, dubbed as Galaxy S7 Plus. It will be more like the Galaxy S6 Edge+, except that it will be larger than it. The expected measurement for the Galaxy S7 Plus is 163.32 x 82.01 x 7.82 mm, which also means that it might sport a 6-inch display. That reminds us of Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, which was a tough to handle device due to its large display.
Having said that, we need to take these leaks with a pinch of salt. There is no valid proof that these leaks actually hold a solid base. Samsung is most likely to unleash the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus in February, at the MWC 2016.

India’s Nexus Venture Partners Announces New $450M Fund

Nexus Venture Partners — the top-tier Indian VC firm which counts Snapdeal, Etsy-like Craftsvilla and medtech startup Lybrate in its portfolio — has reloaded for more deals after it announced its newest $450 million fund.
The fund, which is the nine-year-old firm’s fourth to date, takes it to over one billion in capital under management — becoming the first Indian VC to reach that milestone. Nexus, which has invested in more than 60 companies to date, said the capital will be used for seed and early stage deals once again. In particular, the firm is looking closely at retail, financial services, health and education in the consumer space, in addition to promising companies in the enterprise space.

Nexus’ previous fund — its third — closed at $270 million in 2012, but now it has ramped up in line with increased interest and activity in India’s startup space.
“We are thankful to our investors that continue to back us and believe in our investment philosophy,” Naren Gupta, cofounder and managing director of the firm said in a statement. “Most significantly, the Nexus team is fortunate to have exceptional entrepreneurs partner with us on their journey to build market leading companies.”
Other firms to raise new funds this year include Helion Ventures, Accel, and Qualcomm. New York-based Tiger Global, the hedge fund that has been among the most active investors in India, closed $2.5 billion in new capital last week, while Japan’s SoftBank has pledged to spend more than $10 billion on deals with India-based startups.Sequoia, SAIF and Lightbox are among other well-funded and active VC firms in India.

Tiny baby forges adorable cross-species alliance with friendly corgi

Babies have a busy life. Many struggle with packed schedules of taking naps, watching TV, spitting up, and pushing things — including themselves— over. But babies also have important jobs as ambassadors of cuteness, so they frequently find a way to carve out some quality time for cross-species friendships.
The results are dependably adorable. Instagram user @ayako_0426 posts photos of a two-year-old Pembroke Welsh corgi and her friend, a smiley little baby. The two, it’s clear, are simply love with one another. And they do all the things best friends do: spoon each other, nap next to each other, and sometimes even smooch.
It’s a low-drama, silly, sweet friendship, the kind of relationship even adult humans aspire to. Check their beautiful little life together, below.

Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland Dies at 48, Says Guitarist

Scott Weiland dead Stone Temple Pilots

Scott Weiland, the ex-frontman of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver who battled substance abuse over the years, was found dead on Thursday. He was 48.
Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro first reported the news on Twitter. “Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight,” Navarro wrote.
Weiland was found unresponsive on his tour bus in Minnesota, where he and his current band The Wildabouts were scheduled to perform at the Medina Ballroom, but the show was cancelled, according to TMZ.
It’s unknown what caused the singer’s death.

Weiland, who battled heroin and cocaine addiction over the years, was known for his flamboyant and unpredictable persona onstage.
Wielding a megaphone alongside his bandmates for sound effect, the fiery-haired frontman led the Southern California-based Stone Temple Pilots for two decades.
Also known as “STP” by their fans, the quartet first broke out in 1992 with hit single “Creep” before going on to become one of the most popular rock bands of the 1990s and 2000s with power ballads like “Plush,” “Big Empty” and “Interstate Love Song.”
Their music still plays in heavy rotation on alternative rock stations alongside ’90s grunge acts Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.
But it was Weiland’s rock star ways that often got him in trouble offstage.
After spending five months in prison for possession of heroin in 1998, he was later charged with domestic abuse for assaulting his wife.
In 2008, he checked into rehab after being arrested for a DUI and once, after a fight with his wife, leapt from a moving car to score heroin.
“People have this misconception about me,” he said in an interview with USA Today in 2011. “OK, I struggled with heroin and cocaine and I was a big rock star. But music is not what defines me. I’m a brother, a father, a son.”
Weiland later split from Stone Temple Pilots and formed supergroup Velvet Revolver with ex-Guns N’ Roses rockers Slash and Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum. The band eventually split up, again because of Weiland’s substance abuse.
“I’m still on the verge all the time,” he said of his fight to remain sober. “My brother passed away [from a drug overdose in 2007], and that’s something that will always stay with me.”
In 2008, Weiland reunited with STP for the last time before leaving the band again and embarking on a solo career. But not, of course, without Weiland storming off in dramatic fashion.
After ex-members of Stone Temple Pilots sued the two-time Grammy-winner in 2013 for playing their material during his solo shows (STP was later fronted by Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington), Weiland countersued, calling his ex-bandmates’ claims “ridiculous.”
The group eventually reached a settlement out of court.
“I apologize to those fans out there who are, feel like they’re caught in the middle of it,” he said at the time. “‘Cause I sure feel like I’m caught in the middle of it emotionally, and all I want to do is play music.”

Known for his baritone vocal style, Weiland has also performed with the remaining members of The Doors for a VH1 “Storytellers” special.
He is survived by his two children, Noah and Lucy.

A hero recreated his twin sister's Instagrams by replacing her baby with a cat

One man wanted to give his twin sister the best birthday gift ever, so he recreated 28 of herInstagram photos — starring only himself and a cat.
The twins have very different lifestyles; Gordy Yates lives the single life, partying and traveling, while his sister Meredith is married with two kids, he wrote on his blog.
Meredith "is so great and I am so bad [at giving birthday gifts]," he wrote. "No matter where I’ve lived, she’s always either sent the gift in a package or saved it to give to me later. [...] It’s like I feel that I’m not quite an adult so I don’t need to give people things but they should give things to me."
So this year, Yates decided to even the score for his sister's 28th birthday by re-enacting 28 of her photos to make up for his years of dropping the ball. He enlisted help from a cat that belonged to someone at his church.

He started out simple, by recreating shots of just Meredith...

...and then moved on to slightly more involved poses.

The best photos are the ones in which Yates tries to recreate Meredith with her kids.

...but was clearly game for some smooches

Yates told Babble that in his eyes, cats and kids are pretty similar, so the photos weren't too much of a stretch.

“They both like to eat off of and crawl on the floor, they both like to bite me, they’re both really small, they’re both really hard to control, and I can’t give birth to either of them.” Yep, sounds about right.

Don’t Panic! Your Instagram (Probably) Wasn’t Just Hacked

shutterstock_130267631

About two hours ago, I got a flurry of text messages from my family.

“My Instagram got hacked!” one read.
“I can’t log into Instagram! I got a notification saying I’d been logged out!”
You too?
Don’t panic. A bunch of people got those alerts — and no, it wasn’t a big ol’ mega hack.
It’s unclear exactly what happened, but Instagram says it wasn’t the result of something malicious. Just “a bug”, they say — and one that should be fixed now.
Carry on posting pictures of your coffee, shoes, and things perfectly centered from above.

Privacy Advocates Celebrate The End Of The NSA’s Phone Record Collection Program

The NSA shut down its bulk phone record collection program yesterday, more than two years since former NSA contractor Edward Snowden exposed the program to journalists and prompted a global debate about surveillance technology.
The program has been marked to sunset since Congress passed the USA Freedom Actearlier this year. But in light of the terror attacks that rocked Paris earlier this month, many hawkish lawmakers have attempted to hold off on shutting it down.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence announced on Sunday that the program shut down as scheduled.
As the program came to a halt, privacy advocates took a victory lap on Monday. Here are those hot takes.
Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon wrote:
“This program’s very existence was concealed from the American public for over a decade.  Across two administrations, senior officials from US intelligence agencies and the Justice Department repeatedly made false and misleading statements that concealed the truth about what they were doing.  These officials relied on a secret body of law to justify the mass surveillance of the American people. Fortunately, in America sooner or later the truth always comes out.  When Americans found out about this secret, unconstitutional surveillance two years ago, they were rightfully outraged.  And they made their voices heard.  The result was historic reform legislation that required the government to shut this program down.”

Senator Mike Lee said:
“Today both the safety and Constitutional rights of American citizens are more secure thanks to the USA Freedom Act. Not only did the USA Freedom Act strengthen the Fourth Amendment rights of all Americans by ending the bulk collection of personal data, but it also better ensured national security by closing a loophole that prevented the government from tracking foreign terrorists once they entered the United States.”
Members of the House of Representatives also reiterated their support of the law. Bob Goodlatte, John Conyers, Jim Sensenbrenner and Jerrold Nadler issued the following statement:
“The implementation of the USA Freedom Act represents government at its best: it is the product of a robust public debate and intense bipartisan negotiations dedicated to finding a way to protect our Constitutional rights while enhancing the safety of our country. The bipartisan law ends the bulk collection of telephone metadata once and for all, enhances civil liberties protections, increases transparency for both American businesses and the government, and provides national security officials targeted tools to keep America safe.”

The implementation of the Freedom Act highlights that in a government marked by gridlock, there have been many major policy decisions that impact the tech industry from Washington this year. After little happened for the industry last year, 2015 brought significant reforms to the government surveillance and made net neutrality the law of the land.
