MIRROR LESS CAMERAS ARE GOING TO MAKE DSLRS OBSOLETE!

With the advent of mirror less cameras, the all time favorite equipments of photography enthusiasts since the advent of photography itself are soon going to be obsolete. So what’s new in the mirror less cameras? Well, as the name suggests, these cameras do not use a combination of mirrors and prism to form a preview of the image through the view finder. Instead, in these new breed of cameras, light passes directly through the lens and onto the image sensor. This enables the camera to capture a preview of the image, which is then displayed on the rear screen.

Are they reliable? Very much! The mirror less cameras are not just another type of point and shoot cameras. They are a superior technology which combines the benefits of both types into one. One therefore has the ease of carrying it around, due to a smaller size and lighter weight. One also has the option to replace its lens with a better one or one suited to a specific genre of photography. The new mirror less cameras are therefore smaller, lighter and come with interchangeable lenses, much like the DSLRs themselves, thus providing the very best of both the worlds to the photographer.
Talking about technological aspects of both the cameras, the mirror less cameras are at par, and sometimes better than the DSLRs when it comes to auto focus, image stabilization, image quality and shutter speed. The simple mechanics of these cameras enable it to do more in less time and therefore they boast of faster auto-focus and very fast shutter speeds, which enable one to capture a series of images quickly.

There are a couple of drawbacks though. A DSLR still has a better battery life compared to the new mirror less cameras. In a DSLR one can click a lot many pictures without using the LCD screen and the electronic view finder, both of which consume a lot of power. When it comes to lens and accessories, there is currently a limitation for the mirror less cameras as one can choose from only a few lenses made available by the camera manufacturers themselves.

However, these limitations aren’t going to stay for long. With continuous technological progress, better batteries are sure to find a way into these cameras and with more and more people opting for mirror less cameras, the options for lens and other accessories are surely going to go northwards.
